This past Friday my dad left for Belize to volunteer his RN skills as a post operation nurse for poverty stricken communities. He will be gone for a week, and I told him while he was away I was going to do something humanitarian of my own. So I decided that I would bake and decorate 2 dozen cupcakes for a women’s shelter in Boston.
You see my mother passed away this past August and she was quite the baker. She would bake for everyone and anything and enjoyed it so much and always reminded me to do something nice for someone else no matter how small or large. I’m very lucky to enjoy this very thing that made my mother so happy and I cannot wait to deliver them.
The director of the shelter is so excited and is really looking forward to meeting me. That is what I have chose to do for my Valentines Day.
About me
I like to divide my life into 4 groups: Entertainment, Athletic, Serious Business and Whatever I Damn Well Please. Entertainment: I like to be around fun, laid back and easygoing people who can make me laugh my ass off but not to the point of mortification. Because that's how I am. : ) I'm also very easy to get along with, a good listener and try to see the good in everyone like my father does (I wish there were more guys out there like this). I can also be a smart ass and make light of bad situations to avoid conflict. But really..nobody is perfect!
Athletic: I love to swim, bike and run. In that order. Which makes me the perfect candidate for triathlons. Sprint races though, not that insane Ironman stuff in Kona. I grew up in house full of baseball players and by being the youngest & only girl, I love the sport of baseball and anything having to do with it. By default. Oh the insanity!!!
Serious Business: I do a lot of volunteer/charity work thanks to my upbringing. My mom taught my brothers and I at a very young age that its good for the heart & soul to give others what you can of yourself. It worked mom.
Whatever I Damn Well Please: Have fun, work hard but don't forget to stop and smell the roses once in a while. This world only has a limited amount of space for the crazies. Lets not become one of them! : ) I have a short attention span *ooh look something shiny!* and tend to get bored easily. I like deadlines and working under pressure, I also like doing things for people out of the kindness of my heart. If you read all of that, pat yourself on the back! Enjoy!
